Wake up every 3 minutes
We have a problem on our Network with Vista and Win7 machines that Wake up and then they go back to sleep after one minute and then wakes up after 2 more minutes. So essentially the machine wakes every 3 minutes throughout the night after the user logs off. I can unplug the network cable and the machine will sleep all night. Something is coming across the Network to wake the machine. We only use SCCM to remotely manage the machines. I have found some information in the scheduler.log file that seems to correlate with this issue but I am not sure what all is going on in the log. I know the Wake on LAN site setting is set to 3 minutes by default. I can't find on my SCCM server however where I am pushing advertisements during that time. Any help would be appreciated.

The WOL related logfiles should tell you if ConfigMgr was responsible for waking up the machines: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632574.aspx

I've dealt with this in the past. This could be due to your network adapter detecting a change in the state of it's network link. It could also be dues to receiving ping requests from the network or could possibly be becuse of rogue magic-packets. If you go under you network adapter's settings under the Power Management tab, there's an option to "Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of standby ". To select this, you first need to enable the option to "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby". Try this, it should help prevent what you are seeing.
