Hello, I am a new learner of SCCM 2007. I am not good at Englisch so I am difficult to get to know the meaning in Microsoft SCCM Library that wrote longly. Now i am learning how to Configure wake on Lan. I have read SCCM Libray but I am not clear. So I want to ask: 1. The brief of Wake on LAN Scenario? 2. The requirement of SCCM Server/Clients that can be apply the Wake on LAN? 3. I want to use Wack on Lan to Schedulely Wack up and Shutdown my Compay Computers because I want all my computers are turn on befor the staffs arrived and I want to make sure all my computers are off If someone forget to turn it off when they left. Cann't I? If i can tell me the way as well? 4. If Something else that are importance about wake on LAN and i did not ask, tell me too? Thank you gratefuly,

1) Wake on LAN (WOL), is intended to wake up PC to deploy software or software updates. 2) All PCs must support WOL and be configured for WOL. (BIOS, Drivers, etc…) 3) WOL in not intended to wake up PCs before your client show up for work. If you have R3 look a power management setting for shutting down a PC. 4) if you are serious about WOL and power management then you should consider looking at 3rd part tools for this, particularly those that integrate with ConfigMgr. http://www.enhansoft.com/

1) Do you have R3 for ConfigMgr? It has a Power Management feature. 2) WOL in ConfigMgr doesn't work all that well, Most people purchase add-on to ConfigMGr when they want WOL to work all the time.http://www.enhansoft.com/

Hi I agree with Garth. SCCM wol is not the best but it does work. 3rd Party add-on like 1E Wakeup which has a Alarm feature which allows you to WOL clients everyday @ 8am. And 1E nightwatchman which allows you to safely power down Desktops when locked. Hope this helps GGerhard (G-man)
