WSS site became readonly
Hi, I'm facing a problem with my WSS site.Till last week my site was working fine, but since today morning all users including admin users for that site are getting all list and document libraries in read only mode. New item, settings menu have automatically disappeared from all the lists. I went through my event logs and did not find any error or warning. The only menu I'm getting is Actions menu. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi, No it does not ask me for sign in. It shows properly user name that is currently logged in. Also anonymous access is disabled in our site.

Do you have some command script to make Site backups like "Stsadm –o backup –url http://[Site] -filename c:\Backup.dat " If yes, the backup process will change your database to Read Only mode before the backup process start to dont have any change in this process, to validate the state of your database use this command line and verify the status... example: stsadm -o getsitelock -url http://[Site] If return "Lock="Read Only"" you will need to execute "stsadm -o setsitelock -url http://[Site] -lock none " to unlock the database and change the read only permissions. Hope this help...Andr Lage Microsoft SharePoint, CRM and Sybase Consultant Blog:http://aaclage.blogspot.com Codeplex:http://spupload.codeplex.com/http://simplecamlsearch.codeplex.com/
