WSS CEWP Issue
I have an end user with Full Control to a WSS 3.0 site who has added a CEWP to her home page. When she clicks the "Rich Text Editor" web part, instead of opening to edit mode, it opens to just a dialog box with an empty gray colored screen. She then has to left click somewhere in the gray colored screen to actually see the content to be edited.Anyone seen this before? If so, any permanent solution? While the work around works, the end user is frustrated it doesn't just open "like it does for [other users]". She is using IE7 accessing a WSS 3.0 site

seems your enduser has done some dirty javascript within the CEWP. If so, open the page with SPD, copy the CEWP into the clipboard and delete it. Save the page and look again whether this was the reason for the strange behaviour. if so, rethink your JS code inside.

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately that isn't the case. The first time the CEWP was added, *I* did it with the text "blank" in it, nothing else, no code, not pasted from someplace else, nothing, just "blank".It has always opened for her to the gray screen, regardless if it has something in it, or not.

Did you customize the CSS-file or unghost the site template? What's the behaviour if you create a new subsite from the same site template used on the site, does another CEWP looks the same?

Did you customize the CSS-file or unghost the site template? We are using a custom theme, yes, correctly using a theme CSS. The default template is a Blank site. What's the behaviour if you create a new subsite from the same site template used on the site, does another CEWP looks the same?Only for this user. The same CEWP in the same site(s) open correctly and as expected for me.

I have created brand new sub sites in same parent site, nothing in site, added CEWP to home page. I and other Full Control users can use CEWP just fine. This one specific end user though *always* gets a gray colored dialog box on which she has to click in order to see rich text to edit. There has to be a setting somewhere we are missing. Any ideas/suggestions are welcome. Please.

Running Microsoft Office diagnostics from Word fixed this issue.
