WSS 3.0 is telling me that IIS is not installed
I've been trying to install 3.0 and do an in-place upgrade from 2.0 I ran into some wierdness with the install, and terminated it. Now when I try to run the Configuration Wizard, I'm getting an error telling me that IIS is not installed. It's right there - I can see it : ) I can run IIS manager with no problem. So what is WSS 3.0 looking for? thanks, jim p. 05/15/2007 11:10:21 1 ERR An exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.PostSetupConfiguration.PostSetupConfigurationTaskException was thrown. This looks like a good question to ask in the SharePoint - Setup, Upgrade, Administration and Operation forum, don't you think?

I am in this same situation and it's driving me nuts (Vista x86, IIS7). I have all IIS6 options toggled already - IIS *is* installed but I keep getting that blasted error "Internet Information Services is not installed. You must have Internet Information Services installed in order to use the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard." Did you ever get this resolved?

Did anyone found the solution to this issue. I am trying to configure it from hours but it gives the same error. You must have Internet Information Services installed in order to usetheSharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard. I have Windows Vista Home premium and I did everything checking IIS compatibility etc. What I am not able to as suggested in some thread is checking the Windows authentication which I am not able to find in IIS. Please help!!! :( -Thanks

I was able to continue after I installed everything under Web Management Tools and World Wide Web Services at the the Internet Information Services level in the "Turn Windows features on or off" and not just the recommended services.

Hi, I suffered from a corrupted xml file MetaBase.xml to be exact. To figure out if you have this problem. Turn off all of your IIS 6 Management Compatibility features Click Ok Do not Restart Turn the features on individually one at a time if something errors, check the Event Manager Once I fixed this xml file, my Configuration worked. Hope this helps!
