WSS 3.0 installation failure
Did anyone come across this before? When you try to start the installation of WSS it loads for a second then stops and close window. Nothing in event viewer no process that I can see related to the installion that sits in a running state, it just stops and closes. My setup is as follows: IIS 6,VS2008 SP1,SQL2008,Win2003 SP2.This is a clean machine that I started for WSS dev. Any help would be great! Thanks,

yes, I am trying to run the installation as the Domain Admin. The funny thing is, when I downloaded the installation file and tried to run it as a test to see if it did not get corrupt(pre-SQL) it opened and notified me that no SQL was installed and that it requires SQL. So I ran the SQL installation and tried it again and this is where I get this behaviour...thanks,

Got the problem... I checked the file size of the one causing the issue and it is 130MB. I went to the download page of WSS 3.0 where I saw that the size is 77MB. I re donwloaded the file and tried the new one and it's installing. Don't know what went wrong with the one that gives me the problem with it seems to be working now. Thanks for everyones posts!!
