WSS 3.0 farm Restore Failed
Hi All, I am moving my Production WSS farm to my QA env and for the same I am using FARM Backup and Restore Process. I took the of backup of my production WSS and the backup file size is almost 30 GB. So on QA database server to be on safer side I left free space in SQL data drive(F:) more than backup file size. So the time when I restored the entire FARM only WSS_Content get restored succesfully and for rest of the database like SharedServiceDB and Serach DB etc I got error, that there is not enough free space left in drive (F;) to restore the rest of the databases. So when I am calculting the *.mdf file size for above(unrestoed) databases it is coming something around 20 GB and in my data drive(F:) I have almost 23 GB free space. So how this be possible even if I have more free space than required Is there anyway we can calculate or estimate the restore data size before restoring the data. Note : I have only 3.4 GB free space left in appn server primary drive(C:) so just want to know is this can cause the issue? If yes can somebody tell me how the data distribute over appn and database server while restoring the FARM backup? Sachin Vashishth MCTS
