What is the future of FIM 2010 after mainstream support of WSS 3.0 is ended? Is the full combination of FIM 2010 with WSS 3.0 still support or what are the recommends paths to get a full supported environment? The combination of FIM 2010 + WSS 3.0 is, as it looks, no longer mainstream supported on October 9th 2012; the mainsstream support of WSS then ends, however the mainstream support of FIM 2010 ends on 14th of July 2015. As far as I know is the combination of FIM 2010 (not the R2 version) and Sharepoint Foundation 2010 also not a valid option or is it now? Received this reply from a member of the Product Group of microsoft on request of supoprt FIM2010 in combination with "WSS3.0 SP2 and/or SP3 When we published the document we also said that we do not plan to test or update the document with every new service pack. The customer is free to add any later service pack and still be supported. When there is a new minor release (e.g. R2) or major release (e.g. SQL2012) then we will test and update the documentation. In summary, on service pack level the customer will be supported without the documentation being updated.
