WSS 3.0 Calendar Integration with Outlook 2007
Hey Everyone, I would like to allow users to use the Connect to Outlook feature in SharePoint such that they can load our Events and Availability calendars in Outlook 2007 and take advantage of some of the features there (calendar layering for example). Because I have added required columns to each of those calendars though, I do not want them to be able to update the calendars using Outlook unless the required columns are also required using that interface. Therein lies the problem. Currently, users can connect the calendar to Outlook and then use Outlook to add new items to the SharePoint calendar without completing any of the required fields. Is there any way to set this up to either force them to use SharePoint to add new items to the calendar or force Outlook to recognize the need to complete the required fields? I would appreciate any assistance I could get on this. Thanks.
