WSRP Conumer webpart for Sharepoint and Websphere portal integration
Hi, I am using websphere portal as producer portal and Sharepoint as consumer portal. In sharepoint portal i used the WSRP Consumer webpart for consuming the producers from Websphere portal, while consuming the websphere producer i am getting this error: "An error was returned while trying to connect to the portlet server. The details of the error message have been added to the SharePoint log file. Please contact your SharePoint administrator to correct this problem" and error in event log is : "EJPWC1104E: The Producer environment has timed out. The Consumer needs to invoke initCookie() again" Can anybody tell how to increase the timeout for Remote Portlets on consumer side and how to invoke initCookie(), so that i dont get this exception. Any other solution to resolve this error will be greatly appreciated.

Movbing to General. Seems to not be a Programming question but a question about integrating with another product (thus knocking out Admin which is for Admin of the OOB products).WSS FAQ sites: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com and http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com Total list of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/Lists/v3%20WSS%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspx

NEVER NEVER post the same question to two different forums.I have deleted the copy that you sent to Business Intelligence. If you disagree with me moving the original post to General - say so, and I will moveTHIS original threadon to Business Intelligence but do NOT create a second copy ever.WSS FAQ sites: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com and http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com Total list of WSS 3.0 / MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/Lists/v3%20WSS%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspx

Hi,WSRP Consumer webpart is implemented by the WSRPConsumerWebPart class, Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.portal.webcontrols.wsrpconsumerwebpart.aspx). This class has no timeout-related properties, nor method similar to invoke an initCookie(), so I am sceptic, that you can handle that by configuring the web part. The Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.WSRPWebService has an initCookie() (and two initCookieAsync()) method, that uses a Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.WSRPWebService.initCookie class, but AFAIK these things are used in producing, and not in consuming the WSRP.Peter

Have you used any of the free tools to validate the WebService? Here is a link to a free WSDL validator but there are more just search on http://www.xmethods.net/ve2/Tools.po and a link to a bunch of free tools.. http://soapclient.com/SoapTools.html...After you have validated the WSDL you can then debug and send request to the web service... XMLSpy from Altova is the easiest way to create and consume webservices...-IvanIvan Sanders My LinkedIn Profile, My Blog, @iasanders.
