WMI Probe Module Failed Execution
WMI Probe Module Failed Execution I know this is common error, but I figured out many of these errors are from DISK 1, DISK 2 etc. I know this from going into Monitoring, Discovered Inventory where it shows the card reader with DISK 1-> DISK 4 -- Caption = "TEAC... USB Device." Our computers only have 1 HD in them except for the USB TEAC Card reader (installed by DELL) which I discovered SCE sees as four additional hard drives. These are hardly used and generate alot of errors in the SCE console. How do I write or use an existing rule to exclude the card reader from SCE 2010 or use another method entirely to accomplish the task? The error I get is something like this: Query: 'associators of win32_diskdrive='\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE5'} where ResultClass=Win32_DiskPartition' Note that the drive is Number 5, yet this computer only has one PHYSICAL HD, a DVD drive and a card reader. The computers are Dell Optiplex 745's running Vista Enterprise. The SCE clients are 2007 SP1 the server is running 2010, I guess there is no 2010 client yet.

Hello Glenn, This error occurs on the computers that have external hard drives. When the query runs and the device is disconnected the error is thrown. This issue related with the Management Packs. Did you update them to the latest version? In Essentials 2010, when there is an update available for a management pack that you have installed, you will receive a notification. You can also disable this rule via override by following the artilce below to avoid these alerts. I haven't yet installed the latest MP update. I had a hunch it would fix this problem if I installed it, it will be a week or two before we can install it, but it's good to know that it is the solution. When I went to the override instructions, that particular rule was already disabled. You got the problem correctly assessed though, these card readers look like external hard drives to the system. I am looking forward to applying the latest MP update. Thanks again! Just in case you have any other input on this I am posting the entire error below: (line spaces removed) Object enumeration failed Query: 'associators of {win32_diskdrive='\\.\PHYSICALDRIVE5'} where ResultClass=Win32_DiskPartition' HRESULT: 0x80041001 Details: Generic failure One or more workflows were affected by this.
