WINDOWS SERVER 2012 BACKUP & RESTORE

Hi,

 I would like to know how to take the OS level backup on my Server 2012, In any case if my server crashes will I be able to recover my whole system including the software's installed in it from this backup.

PLEASE PROVIDE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO TAKE SUCH A BACKUP

Hi

 What is you environments?Virtual or physcial?it depends on that.f your server 2012 virtual you should snaphot or backup full  vm backup job.(just for OS)

if your server 2012 physcial you can use Windows server backup service;

Or Should use MS DPM (data protection manager) for backup&restore process.

My Server runs on a VM, Well I need a Os level backup and not a snapshot of the VM which I am familiar with

Hi

 ESX contol panel;

 - Right click on vm which needs to backup

 - choose "clone" this backup the currect situation at the moment.

I dont need to know about a VM backup, I am asking if there is a feature to take backup in server 2012 in such a way that my system as a whole(includes all installed softwares) can be restored after a disaster.

Hi

 You should use DPM for fullbackup&restore.(Data Protection Manager),Windows Server backup service role backup your system state,file,etc.
