Visual studio sequential workflow - Send Reminder email

Hi,

I am using visual studio 2010 sequential workflow (farm solution). The workflow is attached to the custom list. When an item is created, workflow is trigerred, a task is created for the manager and an email sent to manager for the approval.

I want to send a reminder email to manager (in first 48 hours),if no action has been taken. This reminder email is to be sent only once. How to achieve this?

Thanks

There is a quirky way of achieving this requirement.

Make use of the Information Management policy of list settings and trigger the reminder mail sending workflow for the set time. You can make use of the Designer workflow for sending the reminder mails.

When you try to create a new policy on the the list, you can choose the content type and trigger a workflow from there. All the date fields will be available and you can add days to this fields for triggering the workflows after 3 days.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I cannot use Designer workflow. Is there a way to achieve the functionality in visual studio sequential workflow?

Thanks
