Visual Studio hangs up after Stop Debug
Hi, I have a really annoying Problem with Visual Studio. Sometimes when I press the "Stop" Button (after successful Package runs), Visual Studio freezes itself. And I can't track down the problem: - it happens on a random basis. Sometimes after the 50th Package Run, sometimes on the first. - Package "size" does not matter - "Component used" does not matter. I searched various boards for a solution and could not find any. Any Hints / Advices? Yours,Christian

I met the same issue before. Do you have a repro package? "repro" means although it can't repro every times, we can expect the issue happenswithin 50 times. Could you send me the repro package and I will give it to SSIS dev? Hope it be simple and no special data dependent then itcan be executed in my side.

I'm looking at the package. It's 3 disabled Execute SQL Task and 1 emptey DataFlow Task. You also enabled configuration and log. And there are several variables. Currently I can only run the empty DataFlow Task. It's too simple. I tried many times, no issue happened. And I can't expect execute SQL Task can be executed because I can't connect to DB in your side. I can't repro the issue with the package. Do you have a package that only use data that I may have? For example, Microsoft's sample DB or other SQL Server 2005 DB is good because you can send me the DB files and I can attach it to repro.

Hi, After a few tests the problem seems not to be package-driven. The problem even occurs on "new" Projects (no Control Flow Items, no Configuration, no logging). After installing VS2005 and SQLServer on another machine, i found out, that the typical delay was gone there. On the original machine, there is always a 2-5 seconds delay when i pressed the "stop debugging" button. So I expect that there is a probem with the system itself and VS2005 is waiting for a timeout. (and freezes sometimes). But I cant find out which part of the system causes the troubles. Anyone got a hint? Regards, Christian

Update: I did not found the problem, but i found the solution: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2200392&SiteID=1 After reseting my Import/Export Settings, the lags and the freezes are gone. Copy/Paste from the threat: The following steps solved the problem. 1. open your IDE . 2. Click Tools -> Import and Export Settings 3. In the Import and Export Settings Wizard , choose the Reset all Settings option . 4. Hit Next and follow directions from there . Strange thing: i never imported / exported any settings. Anyway the freezes are gone. Thanks Hong Chang for your help Regards, Christian
