Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 for SSRS 2008?
Our workplace is thinking of using SSRS 2008 and Visual Studio to create online reporting to the public. We had the SSRS 2008 already and need to purchase the right version of Visual Studio. I read online that Visual Studio 2010 won't work with SSRS 2008's BIDS and I also read that ReportViewer 10.0 control can solve the issue. Can anyone help and confirm what version of Visual Studio we should buy to be able to work with the SSRS 2008 (Not the R2 one)? Thank you!

Visual Studio 2010 does not currently support BI project types so you'll need either Visual Studio 2008 or SQL Server 2008 BIDS for SSRS 2008 report development. You can also have VS 2010 installed side-by-side for other development needs, such as developing applications that use the latest ReportViewer control.
