View document details in document library but apply permissions so that document is not 'readable'
I'm thinking this may be a quick solution, but i am very new to SharePoint... so apologies if i use the wrong terms etcI have a situation whereby i wish to store documents in a document library - some of the documents are not to be visible to all (in fact only one person - person x)The reason for this is that many people need to see the document properties - but are not allowed to see the content of the document.Initially i thought this would be easy, apply the viewers permissions to everyone but person x and member permissions to person xHowever, when i do this the document disappears from the document library for all but person x.Is there a way that i can keep all documents and properties visible in the document library but prevent users from opening these documents?ThanksA
