Video Drivers
When I deploy Windows 7 the default screen resolution is 1024x786, which is listed has the highest resolution available. It should be more like 1280x1024. How/where do you make this happen? Is this a driver package or is this done in the .WIM file? mqh7

Hello - Have you seen this, very detailed discussion on resolution... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrosd/thread/d79260fb-c631-4097-81a0-9fe09a9ed38aAnoop C Nair - This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I prefer using MDT for this. With MDT you can have an easy to edit file (customsettings.ini). Within that file you can set various deployment preferences. You can combine it with unattend.xml settings. Deployment settings manipulate the deployment, unattend.xml the installation of the image. Setting resolution with MDT looks like this: [Latitude E6510] BitsPerPel=32 VRefresh=60 XResolution=1280 YResolution=800 [Optiplex 755] BitsPerPel=32 VRefresh=60 XResolution=1280 YResolution=1024 [Optiplex 760] BitsPerPel=32 VRefresh=60 XResolution=1280 YResolution=1024

That should not be nessesary... I deploy more than 50 different models at various customers, and nowhere do I have to set the resolution! Ones the correct video driver is added to the OSD process, Win7 will take care of this for you! Remember that even though the video driver might no be missing from device manager, doesn't mean you have the correct/newest driver installed.. the drivers shipped with Windows 7 are quiet old by now!Michael Petersen My Deployment Blog - http://blog.coretech.dk/mip
