VAMT 3.0 - Access is Denied on other domain

I upgraded to VAMT 3.0 (6.2.9200.0) because it was required to activate a Windows Server 2012 license.  I now need to activate a Windows 7 PC on another domain, something I have done routinely with VAMT 2.0.  I have tried everything I can think of, but am unable to access any of the computers on my other domain.

Specifics:

I'm in DomainA, running VAMT 3.0 on a Windows 7 Pro PC.  To simplify things, I've turned off the firewall on my computer as well as the computer in DomainB.

In VAMT 3.0 I am attempting to use "Update License Status" as I usually do.  I specify alternate credentials, and enter DomainB\<AdminAccount> for the domain, and the password.  Instantly I get "Access is denied".  There are no error codes produced, so I don't have much to go on.

As a test, I was able to go back to VAMT 2.0 and access the other domain just perfectly.

Questions:

1) Where is the log for VAMT 3.0?  I'd like to see if that helps any.

2) How does one get VAMT 3.0 to work with computers on another domain?  This is really important.

It may be that DCOM is disabled on Server B. If the issue persists, please try to enable built-in administrator account.

Unable to find a solution for this after a lot of wasted time.  VAMT 3.0 is required for newer OS's but it's hardly mentioned by MS, and I'm unable to find support for it anywhere.  Pretty much useless.
