Using multiple datasets from a model with no relationship to dataset
I'm trying to create several different tables from several datasets. The data source is a model that has no direct relationship with the datasets. I keep getting errors. Any thoughts?

Hi cclinton21,
From the information posted, I infer that there are at least two datasources including Report Model datasource in Report Builder,
and several datasets. Then, you created a report with multiple tables in the Report Builder, retrieving data using different datasets. One important thing here is, all those datasets are not using Report Model datasource. If I have misunderstood, please point
out and give more information about your environmental, main data structure, detail error messages.
Since I have made a test on Report Builder 2.0 + SSRS 2008:
1.
Create two datasources in Report Builder 2.0, datasource1 using AdventureWorksDW208 database, datasource2 using Report Model deployed on Report
Server.
2.
Create a dataset based on datasource1.
3.
Insert a table to show data in the dataset created above.
When I preview the report, it prompts me to input Login name and Password. That is because, the datasource Connecting method in Reoprt
Model has be set to using Credentials supplied by the user running the report. We can see, the Report Builder can perceive Report Model datasource, even the reporting has nothing to do with it.
So to troubleshoot your issue, I suggest you to delete the Report Model datasource first, then run the report again. If it works
fine, it should be something wrong with the Report Model.
Thanks,
Lola
