Using XML Data Feed In Reports
One of our vendors recently provided an online data feed which can be used to access information on their line of products. They sent me a PDF outlining how to use this feed on a website but I'm wondering if I could use this XML as a datasource in an
SRS report somehow so I can display info on the products we are pulling on our spec sheets. The PDF basically just gave me a few URLs which can be used to gain access to the feed (ex.
http://www.domain.com/DataFeedXMLReader.aspx) as well as paths to get to the data (ex.
http://www.domain.com/Product/ProductInfoXML/37 where 37 is the ID of one of the products). Browsing to that second URL will pull up the XML with all the elements for that item
(Product Name, Product Description, Image Location, etc..).
I'm curious if I could either use this XML feed as a datasource or reference it inside the report itself by passing the ID to the URL and pulling the elements out that I need. Does that even make sense?

Hi Matt McE,
It is one intelligence and unique idea. As we know, there are two types XML that being able to use in SSRS: XML Web Services and document. For
the second URL, it seems just one URL with the parameter to display specified product rather than Web Services, I guess it is not feasible to use as the DataSource.
If it is not useable, please contact to the vendor to support Web Services for you.
