Using Transforms in Application Deployments

Hello all,

im having quite serious problems deploying applications in CM 2012.

It startet with Visio 2010 and Project 2010 applications where the customized .msp-files wasnt applied when deploying the application (you may visit thread http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagergeneral/thread/174a3316-9362-4509-bc37-8488a054f521 - but until now no solution that helped).

Now i have started digging into my other deployments and found out that apparently all my programs that consist of more that one single (msi-)file wont run properly. A Example:

I created a new Application "Quicktime Player 7" using a Quicktime.msi that i extracted from Quicktimeinstaller.exe and a custom QuickTime.mst that i created with installshield 2010 in Order to apply two reg-keys when installing Quicktime. The install Program for the application should run the following commandline for System:

msiexec /i "QuickTime.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="QuickTime.mst" /L*v "C:\Windows\CCM\logs\_Quicktime_Player.txt"

manually running this commandline results in installing quicktime with the settings i changed in the Transform. When deploying as application, i get msierror 1624 (Unable to apply transform). MSI-Logfile tells me that QuickTime.mst could not be found.

When browsing my ccmcache, i found out that the Transform wasnt even downloaded into the cache -even after removing, redistributing application content.

How can i Get my Application to really deploy ALL Files that are needed for Installation?

Basically, in my other applications the same thing happen:

TeamViewerHost.msi doesnt apply Teamviewer_Settings.reg thats located next to the msi-file in the Source-Folder

Visio 2010 doesnt apply \Updates\Custom.msp as supposed in every Microsoft documentation about Customizing and deploying Office 2010 application, so does Project 2010.

I dont get it, what am i doing wrong?

Can the .mst be found in the package/application/deployment type source at all? What does the content status tell? Was it deployed successfully to the DP(s)?

Yes, the files are all there in the content source folder and the content was successfully distributed to the distribution point. Is there a way to check the files on the DP manually, like browsing the smspkgc$ shares an looking for the corresponding files?

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.
