Using SharePoint 2007 MOSS to run an internet site
Currently, my organization is using SharePoint for collaboration and is working on migrating content from an older system. What I am wondering is, is it possible to have an internet facing site that is still connected to the internal network? The goal is to have vendors or contractors use this site to submit electronic deliverables. These would then be redirected to the appropriate users or systems automatically. Is this possible with SharePoint 2007 and what is involved?

Unfortunately my site where I could find links to those papers is down at the moment as the company that provides me with the space has just moved and the DNSs haven't caught up. But the usual culprits (search with Google or the Microsoft site for perhaps "SharePoint Extranet") are still available. MOSS for Internet Sites is equivalent in all ways to MOSS 2007 Enterprise Edition only that instead of you needing Internet access licenses to access it you have in effect paid for the MOSS access in the price of the Software. It has however a major BUT attached to it. If you use that license there are massive restrictions in what you are allowed to do in the Intranet. (Which if you have had an Intranet system for a while will almost certainly lead you to abandoning the idea of the for Internet version). 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.
