Using SSIS to pull data from SAP BW...
We have been tasked with pulling data from SAP BW due to a recent company merger. I have architected various projects that pull data from our ERP system (hosted on Progress) and was wondering if pulling the data from SAP BW is a similar process. Do I need any special drivers to connect to SAP BW? Any other thoughts or recommendations is greatly appreciated. TIAJagannathan Santhanam

You'll need to install the SAP connector to use it in SSIS. Google on "SSIS SAP connector" and you'll get plenty of results. Here is a particular useful one: http://agilebi.com/jjames/2011/05/25/how-to-extract-sap-data-in-ssis/MCTS, MCITP - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate. Answer #1: Have you tried turning it off and on again? Answer #2: It depends...

Are you sure? I read the link and I think it is for pulling data from SAP database and not SAP BW which I believe is SAP's OLAP component.Jagannathan Santhanam
