Users having problems logging in. Using MOSS 2007
There seems to be problem for people logging on to our sharepoint site, they are asked for their password over and over again until IE gives them error OR they can login, but every single operation performed on the site asks them for their password. -I have made the users add the url to trusted sites in IE->Internet options -I have made them mark 'Automatically login with same user & pass' under User authentication in IE-> Internet options How do I fix this. Has this something to do with firewalls on the server or is this a browser problem?

Does this happen to all users or specific users. I have seen this happen when users save passwords on non IE browsers. After they changes the password the browsers send the old password eventually locking up their AD account. I had to advice users clear all saves passwords for our SharePoint site.HTH Nagesh S Days and years do not mean anything to me. Moments shared are frozen in their time frame. All the users use IE browsers. The strange thing is that I can login on their username on Firefox, but not on IE.

Could this be a central admin settings problem?

Do you know if you are running Kerboros or NTLM? Can you check the event logs on Server and see what kind of errors you are getting on security? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/215383 try the cscript adsutil.vbs get w3svc/<var style="-webkit-box-sizing: border-box;">WebSite</var>/root/NTAuthenticationProviders and see what comes back. I will check on this Nagesh. I think I should give further information on the problem I forgot to mention: We have a local network, and users there within have no problems logging on to the site. However outside users experience the problems I mentioned in my first post. That is, they can´t login to the site or can login but are asked for their use/pass repeatedly for every operation performed on the site.

When you say outside users can you clarify? are you talking about users not on your AD or users outside connecting through VPN? HTH Nagesh S Days and years do not mean anything to me. in the Event Log under Security do you see any error when a user get this. typically you should see a failure audit. this will give you an idea on what is happenning.
