Users aren't added to Sharepoint automatically WSS 3.0
Version = 12.0.0.4518 This is RTM - no service pack. I know - you don't have to say that it is dumb to not patch this, but I inherited this problem. I have run the STSADM -o SYNC has been run and the server has been rebooted. Dan0

Hi, We are having a problem with SharePoint ever since the beginning of the year. When we add new users to the domain, the accounts are not being included in SharePoint. I don't see updates to SharePoint in the add/remove programs, but something changed. The logs are flooded with: Event Type: Error Event Source: Office SharePoint Server Event Category: Office Server Shared Services Event ID: 6482 Date: 3/8/2011 Time: 10:15:10 AM User: N/A Computer: %Server% Description: Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.ExcelServerSharedWebServiceInstance (30774ceb-5ddf-401c-95b7-a735e84e3d8c). Reason: The path specified cannot be used at this time. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070094) The back-end is on a SQL2005 DB on another server. Server is 32bit and server 2003 Web Edition SP2 on a dell 1850 with 2GB Ram. I'm not sure this is the problem, but on the Central Administration>Operations>Timer Job Status SharePoint Worker Process Group Update %ServerName% Retry I am not new to SP, but I can't just do random stuff to it and hope it goes well and am seeking thoughtful advice. BTW, Everything else seems to work. TIA, Dan0 Later: I found this article, but we only have one SharePoint server so it isn't an exact fit, but it is close. I can't manage IIS through the server manager. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946517

Hi Dan555smith, Threads conflicted would also occur on one server/computer. So you can download the hotfix in KB946517 or try following steps to stop this conflict. 1. Stop OWSTIMER.EXE process in Task Manager. Owster.exe (Windows SharePoint Services Timer service) is use to execute SharePoint Timer jobs. Stop it in Task Manager, it would restart itself when SharePoint start next timer process. 2. Close IIS Manage window and reopen it. Check how it works. Best regards, Emir
