One of my users that has Full Control to the site has messed up all the permissions. I have now lost control of certain pages. I am in the Sharepoint Owners group and have given the group full control in the site permissions, but that does not inherit down to all the other pages. Is tehre a simple way to give that group full control to the entire site and all it's pages, lists, libraries etc?

I think you can simple add the users who you want to have full control into the site collection administrators group. Then, they would have full permission even if the permission inheritance on the lists or sub sites are broken.
