Hi,

We have our intranet on MOSS 2007. Some of the users (particularly those who have edited their account names in AD) are getting the above error when they try to 'Edit Details' from 'My Profile' in 'My Site'.

I am not sure how to resolve this issue. Can someone kindly help me please?

HI,

Can you try couple of options

1) Can you run Full Profile import of all the AD users so that the changed/updated user profile is synched from AD to SharePoint

2) Try to delete one user and re add him and check if he is able to edit his profile.

A quick solution for those users without running a full import is to do the following using STSADM from the Application server. 

Using this method will save all information for that user in SharePoint.  The other way mentioned here could cause a lock out of the user and more problems in the long run with other users and in your farm. 

STSADM -o migrateuser -oldlogin SPK\kwagner -newlogin na\krisw -ignoresidhistory
