User Profiles and Properties Stopped Importing
Hi, we have a production environment that is no longer importing user profiles and properties from Actice Directory. If we go into Central Admin and click "Start full import" from the "User Profiles and Properties" page, nothing happens.
A quick check of the Import/Crawl log (also linked from the "User Profiles and Properties" page) just shows the entries from the last successful import and does not show any errors/information about the imports we've tried since.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

A few more notes that may help (I hope) lead to a discovery of what's wrong:
The test environment is still updating user profiles correctly The domain name specified for the import connection matches the domain name in the working test environment
When on the "Edit Connection" page within CA, if I don't make any changes to the settings but click "OK" anyway to make the system think I did, then I receive this error message: "An error occured while validating or updating the directory service
connection. No update was performed." The other configurations visible on the "Edit Connection" page appear to be identical between our working test and non-working production environments

Yes! The following error messages are being repeated in various log files:
From Win SharePoint Services 3:
"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {########} failed due to the following error: 8007042d."
From Office SharePoint Server:
"Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (######).
Reason: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {######} failed due to the following error: 8007042d.
Techinal Support Details:

From Service Control Manager:
"The OSearch service was unable to log on as ###### with the currently configured password due to the following error:
Logon failure: the specified account password has expired."
Now I need to go chat with our Sys Admins to fix the expired password. Besides that, do you notice anything else in these error messages that won't be resolved by a new password?
Thanks.
