User Profile display name is wrong
Hi All, Operations team have created user domain\user1 with name "Bob Smith" (name are example only:)) then for a unknown reason, they deleted the account and created new account with the same username but different display name. I know each account have different SID etc., but the problem is within SharePoint is that different sites show different full name for the same username. Anybody know how to clean this up?

The user profiles are imported from Active Directory to SharePoint User Profile store at certain intervals. Can you verify the details of the User at below navigation path: - SharePoint Server Central Administrator -> SharedServices Administeration -> Shared Services 1. - Choose "User profiles and properties" under "User Profiles and My Sites" - Choose "View User Profiles" - Click on the User Account name and choose Edit. This is not the issue since we run incremental imports already. Profile db in the SSP looks ok. The problem is that each content db have a "cache" of all profiles, and I think this cache is not being updated that cause my above issue.

This issue is due to issue with Profile Sync of database. Normally there are two kind of Sync that happen with the content DB 1. Profile Sync 2. Quick Profile Sync (sweep) these updates the data from Profile DB to the content Db incase it is not happening, Please check if the DB is in SYNC run STSADM -o sync -listolddatabases 30 if it returns the result STSADM -o sync -deleteolddatabases 30 this should remove the list of databases which doesnt exist and causing profile sync to have issues. Thanks!I LOVE MS..... Thanks and Regards, Kshitiz (Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.)
