User Profile Synchronization Service is not starting - ILM Configuration Error CONFIG_DB

I have tried many times to start user profile synchronization service but SharePoint Error logs shows ILM Configuration error.

SharePoint Farm user is already member of local administrator group.

I have assigned replicate directory changes rights to sharepoint farm user

I have also created SQL server Alias

I have also assigned dbcreator rights to Sharepoint farm user in SQL server database

I have also started SharePoint web service in IIS

I have also clear Sharepoint cache and try to start user profile sync service but no luck

I have also performed Initialization of User profile database provisioned steps by power shell but no luck.

Please help me out what should I do for starting this service?

How many SP servers do you have in farm?

Do we have alias configured for SharePoint? ( Not specifically for UPA sync )

Under CA>Manage servers in farm>Under database server do we have IP?

Hi Saad,

Based on your description, I recommend to verify the things below:

1.   Check if the SQL 2008 native client is installed in SharePoint server.  If not, please install it first and then run SharePoint Products and Configuration Wizard.

You can download it from the link below:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/3/9138773A-505D-43E2-AC08-9A77E1E0490B/1033/x64/sqlncli.msi

2.   Set the SharePoint farm account as the db_owner of the User Profile databases(such as Profile DB, social DB and Sync DB) and also grant the account with following permissions: dbcreator; public; securityadmin; sysadmin.

3.   If SQL server 2014 is installed, please install April 2014 CU and then check the results.

Thanks,

Victoria
