Hey, i want to start my User Profile Synchronization Service, but i stuck in "starting". When i click Manage Service Applications - User Profile Sync Service App - on the right side i get the following status "User Profile Sync is being provisioned. Please wait...". The ProfileSyncSetupJob is active for about 1h. And the console shows me "Provi..." as status. What i've done to solve: - IISreset - deleted ForefrontIdendityManager Certificates - shutdown/restart the SharePoint Service via console (stop-spserviceinstance id) - FIMSynchronizationService restarted - looked up the logfiles: (FIMSynchronizationSErvice: "The service was started successfully." ---- No other Warnings, or Errors ) - my Account is in the admin group of the local adminitrators - the account has the requested rights: (Replicating Directory Changes, Pre Windows 2000 Compatible Access permission, Replicate Directory Changes ,permission on the cn=configuration containerChild, Objects and Write permission Hope someone can help me out. This seems to be a 2010 item, so maybe the mods can shift this to the appropriate spot. That being said, working with the UPS is pretty heavy. Spencer H has an awesome blog on troubleshooting this (among other issues) here. Hi, When I was configuring UPS, I remember going into component services and changing the permissions on these components, and I changed permissions on the 14 hive folder for the UPS service account.
