User Credential is asking frequently when we use POP3

Hi,

Two months before we have bought the Windows 2012 Standard and Exchange Server 2013 for our office. Installed Windows 2012 in physical server and exchange in Virtual Server.

Everything works perfectly except POP3 Service. When we open the POP3 Profile, it is  asking user name and Password credential frequently.

I dont think it is right to deliver a product with BUG and  to wait for the CU.

Microsoft says that

----------------------------------
This is to inform you that the issue with POP 3 profiles has been filed as a Bug in Exchange 2013.

At present our developer team is working on this and we will get back to you once we have any update on this.

We do not have any specified ETA but it should be in coming CU.
---------------------------------------
Response from Microsoft is totally unprofessional.
Kindly get us the solution fast since this is affecting our operations.

This really isn't the place to complain about Microsoft Support.  Few of us really care to hear about your problems there, you should escalate those concerns to your Technical Account Manager or to a supervisor in Microsoft Support.

Are you saying that a client machine is experiencing this connecting to a mailbox on your Exchange server using POP3?  If so, please supply additional information about how the client is connecting.

Or are you saying that you're using a POP3 connector on your Exchange server to retrieve mail from a host using POP3?  If it's this, then open a support ticket with the provider of that software since it's not part of Exchange.

Hi,

For your question, I want to confirm below points, please help collect answer for further analysis:
1. Whether all POP3 account or some special account face this issue?
2. Which Outlook version and Exchange version are you used?

If all user face this issue, please run Get-PopSettings | FL Identity,*Bind*,LoginType to check the authencation for POP3. More details about it, please refer to: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997188(v=exchg.141).aspx

If some user experience this issue, please try to re-configure your Outlook profile or open Control Panel\User
Accounts\Credential Manager in problematic computer, then clear the remains credential and try again.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

We are facing the problem in all client machines which are  having  Outlook 2010/2013. When we use the POP3 account in Outlook, we are facing the credential problem.

Already Microsoft engineer has taken all log files from our exchange and forwarded the same to their Development Team. But, we are not getting any positive reply  from your end.

Please help us to solve the issue.

Seriously, why would you use Outlook with POP3?  It's such a featureless protocol.

Hi,

For our business purpose, we are using the POP3 Account in Outlook.

Hence we are going to use the POP3 facility in Exchange Server 2013. But, unable to it in the New Version. Please note that our scenario is as per below;

For Example : one User RAM has 2 accounts namely as sales  & purchase account in POP3. From the both Accounts, He can send/receive mail.

Another user RAJU has 2 accounts namely as sales & purchase account in POP3. From the both Accounts, He can send/receive mail.

Without POP3, how can you achieve this Scenario? We can use MAPI account but one user reads/deletes the message in sale or Purchase account. The same changes will reflect in other user also.

If you have any methods without POP3, Please share with us.

Use MAPI and don't delete the messages.
