UserLocale Question - CustomSettings.ini File
Hello everyone, I am hoping that you guys can help me with. I am deploying machines using SCCM 2007 R2 SP2 and am unable to get the UserLocale setting to set the date and time format in regional settings (I am under the impression that this is the setting I need to specify to change this). I have created a new custom settings package with two CustomSetting.ini files (CustomSettingsCA.ini and CustomSettingsUS.ini - as I need to specify a different UserLocale based on where the machine is). I have setup the task sequence to choose which file to run with a task sequence variable. It chooses the correct file and processes the rules as it's supposed to but the end result is a machine that only has a different SystemLocale and a en-US for Date/Time format and US for location...not sure what else to try. Any advice would be apprerciated, if you need more information please let me know. I would be happy to provide what ever is needed. Thanks, Court.Courtney Marr

System Local Will not set timezone! You must specify TimeZone = 105 for XP (Danish time zone), or TimeZoneName = Romance Standard Time for Win7 (also Denmark). You can get the timezonenames like this http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/problem-finding-the-win7-time-zone-names/ Those values will then be added to your sysprep/unattend by the MDT script ZTIConfigure.wsf. As you use CS.ini I'm guessing you created your TS using the MDT integrated wizard, and the step to run that script should therefore be there by default, otherwise you must add it! I am setting time zone using TimeZoneName on the collection level. I need to change the Date / Time format and location using the customsettings.ini Sorry, maybe I should have been more specific. What I am looking to do is setup the task sequence that images a machine and based on a task sequence variable sets the UserLocale (which to my understanding, impacts the date/time format). I have done some research and all signs seem to point to using the customsettings.ini file. Now that being said I don't have an MDT database setup or configured, so I guess I should be asking some other questions in addition. Can I use the customsettings.ini without an MDT database and if not are there any other options to change UserLocale at deployment time? Thanks, Courtney Marr

I figured it out. My unattend.xml file wasn't in use in the TS without the unattend the customsettings.ini file didn't work. Thanks, CourtCourtney Marr
