Use TS to put machine into 'pending restart' state
Hi
I am using the TS to install some software that at the ends requires a reboot. However, I don't want to reboot it then, I want to place it into a 'reboot pending' state much like WSUS updates.
I can then run a SCCM report to list all machines with this software installed but in a 'pending restart' state so we can plan for a mass reboot at an off peak time.
Is this possible with the TS?
Thanks

well you can use a ts to deploy windows updates that require a reboot but the /norestart option is included (however, i know that sometimes the task sequence, or the update, or windows ignores this switch...

Thanks for your reply but it doesn't really answer what I needed. I would like to put the machine into a pending reboot state using a TS do that it can tracked by a SCCM report. Is this possible?

not in any way that i'm aware of as that would mean the task sequence was unfinished or failed.
