Urgent help regrading Coexistence of Exchange 2007 with 2013

I have to Migrate the Exchange 2007 from Old Server having Hardware Issues to New Server with Server 2012 OS & exchange Server 2013.

Please tell me about these Cases:

- Old Server with Exchange is a Domain Controller, and New Server is also a Additional Domain Controller. Old Server has Public IP Address So how to use this Public IP Address to New Server? as I don't want to remove old Server

- What are Procedure to Migrate from 2007 to 2013, Steps?

- I have Free Public IP Addresses, if i change the Public IP Address of the Exchange 2013 Server What are the Complications? Clients will face any problem or not? How to re-configure the Mx-Records etc?

thanks

Hi,

Generally, the Exchange server is not recommended to installed in the same server with Domain Controller:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms.exch.setupreadiness.warninginstallexchangerolesondomaincontroller(v=exchg.150).aspx

For Exchange side, if you want to migrate from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Both Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 should be published to the Internet (public IP). We can update the DNS configuration to:

Internal DNS

Record/Type

Comment

mail.contoso.com

Point to Exchange 2013 server

autodiscover.contoso.com

Point to Exchange 2013 server

Legacy.contoso.com

New record points to Exchange 2007 Server
