Hello Venki123, In order to better understand the issue, we will need some additional information about when you receive this error. how many web applications this affects, which users are affected, if this issue constant or intermittent and a short description of when\who the problem was first encountered. Can you browse to the root http://xx.xx.xxx.xxx:6958/ Also have you checked that you have a login for service account and the application pool account on the content database on your SQL server. Are they the same account and does it have DB creator and Security Administrator privilege. If you provide us with this information we will be able to better provide a solution to this issue. Please remember to click 'Mark as Answer' on the post that helps you or click 'Unmark as Answer' if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Regards, Manas Biswas Microsoft Online Community Support

I had the same error and it was an alternate access mapping issue. http://riedoh.blogspot.com/2012/04/web-application-at-httpxxxxxxxxx-could.html

Riedoh, This thread is more than a few months old and didn't need to be resurrected. The link you mention is to a blog post that you've written this morning which provides an answer that Google can elaborate on in more detail. Using this as a justification to mark your own post as the answer doesn't really stand, so I've unproposed it. Please leave the community to propose your posts, if the original thread posters don't so so. In return, please propose or rate the contributions of others if you deem them valuable.
