Hira, Make sure that both sync service and FIM service are at the same version number. You can get version in sync service from Help->About in sync service manager and from same place on home page in portal for the FIM service. Another thing you can try is to refresh the password for the FIM MA, sometimes it seems as though it needs to be 'tickled' in order to refresh properly. Also, I would look at event log for sync service machine. If MA is added, changed, etc....it attempts to update FIM service. If this fails, it should show something in the app log, I believe.

Hi Hira, ensure that your Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config contains the correct value for the property 'synchronizationEngineAccountName’ namely the logon name for the synchronization engine account. This enables the server to provide elevated access to the synchronization engine without special configuration in FIM. /Hope this helps Matthias
