Uploading to Report Manager via Upload File option does not update the file
Hello, I've run across what seems to be a bug in Report Manager, but it's fairly glaring and I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere. I consistently see the following behaviour with SSRS 2008 R2: Steps: 1. Open Report Manager. 2. Click Upload File on Tool Bar 3. Select an RDL file, upload it as "X". 4. Assign data sources and render the report to verify that it has a particular logic error. 5. Click Upload File again 6. Upload a modifed RDL file (this one has the logic error in #4 fixed), upload it as "X" with "Overwrite Existing" checked. 7. Render the report to find the logic error is still there. If I delete the report before uploading, the upload works as expected. Strangest of all, if I download the 'incorrect' report from the server via Manage=>Download, I see that it contains the correct code, even though it does not render properly. If this is a bug, the work around, of course, is simply to delete existing reports before a deployment. This didn't seem to happen in 2005, can anyone explain what's happening? Thanks!

Hi Vercinegetorix, In this case, I recommend that you first uninstall SSRS 2008 Reporting Services and then try Windows Installer Cleanup Utility which dedicatedly cleanup the left registry keys. Please download Windows Installer Cleanup utility from this KB article, <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301>, install it, run the utility and remove all the left records regarding SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services and Workstation Components. Further assistance, please provide more information about the error log. Thanks, Lola Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help.
