We have a process that we have been using for over a year to import data from XLS to Sharepoint via a connection with MSAccess. Just recently the process is now failing and I am having to do the upload in chunks (200 or 300 records at a time). The import wizard ends with the following message: database or object is read only I use to be able to import 6k plus records this way now it appears to dies after 200 sometimes 300 records. Hi Pinkston, The most common cause of this issue are: 1. The file that you are importing or that you are trying to export does not have a recognized file name extension. 2. The file name is surrounded with quotation marks, for example “C:\Employees.xls”. 3. A carriage return/line feed (CTRL+ENTER) is at the end of the file name in the FileName property.
