Upgrading to Enterprise edition of MOSS for Search
I've successfully migrated from == Office SharePoint Server for Search (Standard Edition) ==to=== Office SharePoint Server for Search (Enterprise Edition) Now, I'm trying to browse Excel services, BDC or use dashboard webparts but can't find it. Also, I don't see any option "Enable Enterprise Features ." as per link below. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc261696.aspx#section2 Do I have to delete SSP and create new one? Or create new one and make it default? and then I get option "Enable Enterprise Features ." ? I tried going this route too but there is an error. Can someone provide steps or point me to any link/blog? Thank you in advance, much appreciated.

Thanks Seven Ma, SP service account has full permissions. Thanks Kshitizs - Under Operations->Upgrade and Migration there is only one item "Convert license type" Also, if this is helpful - Under Operations->Global Congiguration->Manage farm features =>No features available. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ahmed. I'm migrating from Office SharePoint Server for Search (Standard Edition) ==to=== Office SharePoint Server for Search (Enterprise Edition) which looks valid looking at matrix. The conversion was done successfully. But, there is no option "Enable Enterprise Features " available.

Hi,Have you done the coversion steps as follows: 1. Verifying Your License You can verify your license type by going to Central Administration, click operations, convert license type and view the license across from Current License. For example: Office SharePoint Server Trial with Enterprise Client Access License 2. Change/Convert the License Type The product key can be added during setup during the install. To change the key after install go to the Central Administration page, click operations, convert license type, and enter the product key. 3. Enable Enterprise Features To Enable Enterprise Features from a Standard to Enterprise after entering the key go to Central Administration, Operations, Enable Enterprise Features, choose Enterprise and click Ok. (Requires Enterprise License) 4. Enable Enterprise Features on Existing Sites To Enable Enterprise Features on Existing Sites go to Central Administration, Operations, Enable Enterprise Features on Existing Sites, check the box and click Ok. Best Regards, Ammar MCT

Please make sure that the Key is just right that you are punching in. ALso, Make sure "SKU Type Synchronization Job" is running in the TImer jobs. You may check the last run time and the status. Thanks Kshitizs. SKU job is fine. I'm going to double check on product key. Upgrade should have failed if there is any issue with Key.

No, actually the Binaries do not validate the key but the features, actually as per my knowledge you get binary installed but the features do not unlock until you actually put in the key and upgrade in the central admin. As you do not get an option to upgrade to Enterprose, it make me think that it might be the key casign the issue. Thanks!I LOVE MS..... This one was resolved reinstalling SharePoint SP2 on another server using DB attach method. It was long and painful process but worth it.
