Upgrading my rendering extension to work with SSRS 2008
I have written a custom rendering extension for SSRS 2005 (matrix/table) reports. I am currently upgrading my project to use SSRS 2008 (tablix). I have run into a couple of problems and I am finding it very difficult to find information online about custom rendering extensions. I am looking for a contact to help me resolve some of my issues? There is lots of information out there about the RDL changes, but what about the changes made for the rendering extension (Matrix/Table are gone, tablix does not seem to exist). Please let me know if you think you can help me! Thanks Kelley

Can you elaborate on what problems you are seeing on upgrade? You need to remove the custom rendering extension from the config file before you upgrade. Else the upgrade will fail. More info can be found here - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb839481(SQL.90).aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee240802.aspx. Hope that helps. I am not seeing problems on upgrading SQL. I need to convert my rendering extension to support 2008. This was really just a general shut out for anyone who has written a rendering extension. From what I can see online, not many people (if any) are writing rendering extensions. I am looking for someone to bounce ideas off of. Do you know if there is any new documentation available for people writing rendering extensions? Thanks Kelley
