according to msdn

You can open the project in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1.

Hello,

Just curious to know, why you want to upgrade files in VS 2013? You can still deploy your VS 2010 webpart on prod server by WSP package. Usually visual studio not required in prod server for any kind of work.

And yet, after installing VS 2013 and all the updates, when I try to open a project created with VS 2010 I get an error message that says my 2010 project is not supported and tells me to view the upgrade log after hitting "OK". I hit "OK" and an html file name "UpgradeLog.htm" opens in a text editor showing me a bunch of html code which means nothing to me. I go to the directory where the file was placed and find 3-files named "UpgradeLog", one is .htm two  .XML.

So, I open the html one with IE, and it seems it doesn't like the Setup project created for my VS 2010 application. This after all that "seemless" talk about being able to move "seamlessly" between VS 2010, 2012, & 2013. Seems rather hollow.

Now what?

Steve
