Upgrade to SCCM R3
I have SCCM 2007 SP2 R2 heirarchy. Please suggest what all pre-requisites are required and per installation and post-installation checks need to be done while upgrading to R3.

Hi, Always perform the upgrade from the central site, then primary sites, secondary sites and administrator consoles. Before installing R3 you will need to install the prereq hotfix - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977384 Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Thanks Kent. Any other specific pre installation-Post installation check required? Also, should the mentioned hotfix be installed on clients before or after upgrade to R3?

It's covered in the docs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff977062.aspx. You should always check for errors when installing a R-release or a service pack.

Or in other words, do I need to push out the patch to all clients before I run R3 setup, or send the patch AFTER installing R3? Thanks.Mayur

Never mind, I found the answer. It's a prereq before you install R3. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977384 Mayur
