Hello, I want to upgrade SCOM 2007 SP1 to the latest release SCOM R2 CU5. What is the steps to do so? Do I have to upgrade the agents two times for this, after the R2 upgrade and then after CU5 or can I first upgrade the SCOM system to R2 CU5 and then take the agents as a last step? i'm not entirely sure, but i think you have to do upgrade the agents twice. if you don't have manual installed agents that'll be an easy step anyway, just approve them in pending...Rob Korving http://jama00.wordpress.com/

Hi Sadly you can't slipstream cumulative updates into SQL 2008 R2 RTM - it would save a lot of grief, even for green field installs. So as Rob says - for all components. Upgrade to SQL 2008 R2 RTM first. Then upgrade to Cumulative Update 5.
