Upgrade Database Server to SqlServer 2008
I have MOSS 2007 on a server and the DB's are SqlServer 2005 DB's and they reside on the same server as the MOSS 2007. I want to switch my DB's to a SqlServer 2008 DB that is separate from the MOSS server. Anyone know how this can be achieved?

Backup DBs from 2005 SQL server and then restore it on SQL 2008 server After that disconnect SharePoinr from SQL 2005 and create a new configuration DB on SQL 2008 by connecting SharePoint to new SQL server. (SQL 2008 ) Once you will get Central admin up and running create sites and attach old DBs which you have restored on SQL 2008 from SQL 2005. Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant |
