Upgrade/reinstall OS and SCCM in a single server configuration
Hi, I'm about to perform a new installation of SCCM 2007 R2 in our environment. New hardware, new OS (Windows Server 2008 R2). Are there any technical documentation describing this scenario? Scratching it all and manually reconfigure the new server is an option, but there still are possible AD integration issues and so on that I have to take into account. I would also like to get this as painless as possible and there are perhaps better ways of doing this. Any input is greatly apreciated. Regards, Bjørn mobæk

I was a bit unclear there. We already have SCCM 2007 R2 in place but on the wrong OS version and on old hardware.

You can do that using ConfigMgr's backup and restore mechanisms. There are a few threads in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrbackup/threads that cover that exact scenario.
