Updating to CU4, no Data Warehouse DB
I'm in the process of updating to CU4 and i've updated our OperationsManager database; however, i don't have a Data Warehouse database at all. We are pretty new to SCOM and everything seems to be working fine for us so i really don't know what this is or if it was an option we just decided to not do. Is this Data Warehouse database a required thing that should be here and just isn't? I don't want to proceed with the other steps for CU4 until i know i can go without having and updating this database. Thank you,

Just a little more info, our environment has 1 SCOM server that monitors around 20 servers.

Hi RyanM_H. The Data Warehouse is definitely not a required OpsMgr component. It is the database for the reporting data if the reporting component is installed. You can read more about reporting here: Operations Manager 2007 Reporting Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee292065.aspxmats.w | www.opsmode.com

Thank you very much. Do you know if we decided to install this later, would i have to run that sql script and/or re-install the CU4?

Yes, you have to run the CU4 .sql script if you decide to install the reporting component.mats.w | www.opsmode.com
