Updating DPs over a slow intra site connection (1 Mbit /s link between site)
Hi We have a lot of remote sites connected via a corporate network. The only problem is that the link have a 1 Mbit/s connection speed. We we update DPs, it take ages to update the packages. What is here the best practise? Is it possible to publish a dp in the internet and have the remote site update their packages via internet too? That would be much faster because their internet connection is using a local isp. The site-to-site connections are only 1 mbit/s Thanks for the input

See http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrgeneral/thread/e1ffe10c-a052-405e-a4d6-76676f58e5c7. It covers the exact same topic IMHO. Packages cannot be updated over the internet. You might consider using IBCM (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693755.aspx), but that depends on many factors.

hi torsten Thx, just read this post. My questions: 1) we only have one site and x dps. Should we better install a secondary site instead of a dp oversea? 2) is there a way to update those dps by sending the local it a medium (disk oder dvds) to update the package which are very big instead of replicating? Thx a lot

#1: That depends on the numbers of clients. See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb693570.aspx. #2: no, that does not exist for DPs (but secondaries and BDPs).
