Updating Alerts language in SharePoint 2003
Is it possible to change the description of the Alerts that are sent from SharePoint? For example when someone uploads a a new file the alert text shows as "filename has been changed" and same text is listed when a file is updated. Thanks,B

I don't have "60" folder inside the Web Server Extensions folders. I only have two folders listed "12" and "wpresources".Even when I go into 12>TEMPLATE>1033>XML I don't see any of the files mentioned in the above article.

> I only have two folders listed "12" and "wpresources". Then you probably have SharePoint 2007 (Your subject line said 2003). If you have 2007 then there should be a number directories in the 12 folder, including TEMPLATE. If you do have 2003 then would need to look around the web server and see if it was installed to another directory. If you have 2003 try searching the entire web server for notifsitehdr.xml. (You are looking at the web server, right?) For 2007 see here: http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepointdeveloperdocs/archive/2007/12/07/customizing-alert-notifications-and-alert-templates-in-windows-sharepoint-services-3-0.aspx Mike Smith TechTrainingNotes.blogspot.com
