Hi. I'm trying to install Update 2 via Windows Update. Update for Synchronization Service went fine but update for Service and Portal gives this error Error - no web application or web site found The web application or web site at http://localhost could not be found or the user who install FIM does not have SharePoint admin privilige. Please create web application and web site in http://localhost or grant the user who install FIM Sharepoint admin privilige, and then click "Retry". Click "Cancel" to abort setup. When I go to http://localhost, I can see that it's up and running and displays default.aspx, which is front page for Windows Sharepoint Services. I have managed to install Update 2 in other enviroment without any problems. What could be the problem?

The error message also suggests there may be an admin privilege issue. Please verify that. Thanks!AhmadAW

Thanks for the reply, Ahmad. How do I verify the privileges? I can see in http://localhost (WSS) that this user has "Full Control" checked.

Ok, solved. I had to add http-address in the Alternate Access Mappings (there was only https)
